For several years, The Fairgrounds served as a place for growing real food, celebrating, performing, listening to music, exhibiting, screening films, and more.
Through a generous grant from the Knight Foundation, Little Berlin transformed this once vacant and unwelcoming plot of land into an open space for our neighbors to enjoy.
After the project was underway, I took over as the Project Director. I was responsible for organizing community gardening work days, workshops, concerts, cookouts, performances and film screenings for two seasons.
Eventually the property was sold to a property developer by the owner of Viking Mill, the warehouse where Little Berlin is located.
